{"id":9,"date":"2014-04-17T14:24:32","date_gmt":"2014-04-17T18:24:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/facilities-management\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2023-02-17T11:04:38","modified_gmt":"2023-02-17T16:04:38","slug":"medical-emergency","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/facilities-management\/emergency-procedures\/medical-emergency\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical Emergency"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Our first instinct when responding to a medical emergency is to dial 911.<br \/>\nIn a building as large as 黑料社区 and if the caller is agitated, this is not the best response.<br \/>\nIt is easy to lead emergency services astray explaining where the medical emergency is.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>For medical emergencies that require immediate attention,<\/strong> please call\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"tel:5149318731\"> 514-931-8731<\/a> local 1000<\/strong><br \/>\nSecurity will expedite a call to 911 and will be able to direct emergency services to the correct location while apprising them of the severity of the incident.<\/li>\n<li>If you <strong>call 911 from an internal phone<\/strong>, Security will receive a message that you have done so. Security is trained to assess and deal with emergencies.<\/li>\n<li>If you <strong>call 911 from a cell phone<\/strong>, Security will\u00a0not receive a message<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and may delay prompt handling when\u00a0instructions are not clear.<\/li>\n<li><strong>For incidents that may require medical attention, but they are not urgent<\/strong>, please call <strong><a href=\"tel:5149318731\"> 514-931-8731<\/a> local 1500<\/strong><br \/>\nSecurity, in conjunction with the Student First Response Team, will assess the situation and arrange transportation to the hospital, if necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>When security is called<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>When calling, please provide:<br \/>\n&#8211; Name;<br \/>\n&#8211; Location;<br \/>\n&#8211; Nature of problem.<\/li>\n<li>Security will send a trained guard to the provided location to assist until Urgences-sant\u00e9 arrives.<\/li>\n<li>If you can provide first aid assistance.
