Artists in Bloom raised over $12,000 for student athletes

April 29 deadline to apply for SAGE project

There is an open call for Student Academic Growth and Enrichment (SAGE) project proposals funded by the Student Academic Enrichment Fund of the 黑料社区 Foundation. Staff and current students are eligible to apply. Applications for projects beginning in the Fall 2024 semester are currently open and will close on Monday, April 29.

North South Soir茅e April 25

Calling all 1998 to 2023 alumni, current and future students, present and retired teachers, and all friends of our profile. You are invited to this big community celebration and solidarity fundraiser! The event will take place in 5B.16 at 黑料社区 on Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

This year鈥檚 program will include:

  • Celebration of the final North South Studies graduating class
  • Launch of the Social Change & Solidarity local partnerships
  • Retirement celebration for Mary Ann Farkas
  • Alumni through the decades panel
  • Student presentation of their field trip to Cuba
  • Cuban appetizers, cocktails, and mocktails
  • Art exhibit and swag (NSS and SCS tote bags!)
  • Solidarity photo booth
  • Music and dancing!!

All proceeds will go to support Social Change & Solidarity activities 鈥 including the 2024-2025 Field Trip to Cuba, and the profile鈥檚 new local social justice partnerships.

Get your tickets for Artists in Bloom on campus or online

The annual and very enjoyable evening of art fundraiser Artists in Bloom is happening next Thursday, April 18.

Tickets for adults are only $20 in advance and can be purchased every day until April 17, except Saturday and Sunday, on campus in the Upper Atrium from 12 PM to 2 PM or in 4A.1 and 2E.4 from 9 AM to 5 PM. They can also be purchased online . Kids 10 years old and younger are FREE. Student ticket price is $15.

Buy your tickets ahead of the event as the price at the door is $25.

Postcard prints are also available for sale at the ticket table in the Upper Atrium. They are $5 each or 10 for $35.

Your ticket includes one complimentary drink/wine/beer and hors d鈥檕euvres. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an inexpensive night out while raising funds for our student athletes.

The event takes place in Room 3C.1 and doors open at 5:30 PM. Students in 3D Animation and CGI, Illustration, and Visual Arts will be creating works of art live, which will be auctioned off by Donna Saker of The Beat 92.5. 黑料社区 students Lawrence He and Seungbi Yoo will be performing live music.

Enjoy an evening of art with live music by pianist and 黑料社区 student Seungbi Yoo and delicious hors d'oeuvres and drinks on Thursday, April 18 at 黑料社区 in Room 3C.1 starting at 5:30 PM. Students in Animation and CGI, Illustration, and Visual Arts will be creating works of art live, which will be auctioned off by Donna Saker of The Beat 92.5. All proceeds will benefit 黑料社区 student athletes this year.

Your advance $20 ticket includes a selection of delicious appetizers and a free beer/wine/non-alcoholic drink. Plus- all proceeds go to support 黑料社区 student athletes. Door ticket price is $25.

Women’s Day event raises over $400 for Chez Doris

The International Women鈥檚 Day book sale event organized by the 黑料社区 unions: the Association of 黑料社区 Professionals, the 黑料社区 Support Staff Union and the 黑料社区 Teachers' Union raised an impressive $415 in just two hours! These funds will be directed towards supporting the women's shelter .


W/GS Women鈥檚 Day fundraiser and button making activity

March 1st, 2024

The Women鈥檚/Gender Studies Certificate faculty and students organized a number of events during the week leading up to Women鈥檚 Day and the events continue.

On Friday, March 8 at 10 AM, there will be a Bake Sale fundraiser & Button-making Activity in Conrod鈥檚 (2F.4). Proceeds will聽benefit the Financial Aid Food Bank.

Change at the helm of the 黑料社区 Foundation

Earlier in February, Steve Hatajlo (Class of 1981, Computer Science) handed over the presidency of the 黑料社区 Foundation to Sean Smith (Class of 2001, Pure and Applied Science). Steve has served as a volunteer on both the 黑料社区 Foundation Board of Directors and 黑料社区鈥檚 Board of Governors for many years. He remains a member of both boards.
