Ian MacKenzie wins SALTISE award

Ian MacKenzie (English) was honoured with the聽2020 SALTISE Best Practice & Pedagogical Innovators聽Award. Ian was nominated for his work聽as founder and director of 黑料社区鈥檚 Writing in the Disciplines (WID). Ian has inspired, guided and supported faculty across 28 different departments, and has been a leader within the Learning Communities at 黑料社区.聽The award is given annually at the SALTISE conference. There will be a feature about Ian and this great achievement coming soon on the 黑料社区 website and in D News.
SALTISE will acknowledge Ian and the other awardees within the pages of a Conference Program/Proceedings. SALTISE will distribute聽this souvenir publication. If you are not already on the SALTISE newsletter mailing list, send an email.

Theatre student Fanny Dvorkin’s work to be broadcast Thursday

Congratulations to second year Professional Theatre student Fanny Dvorkin. Fanny is the recipient of a $500 ART APART award from the National Theatre School of Canada. Her project will be broadcast on the and on Thursday, May 7. Her filmed performance focuses on the isolation caused by COVID-19, while exploring the notion of gender in a private world.
Industrial Design student’s project to help refugees wins international contest

Third-year student Alejandrina Hernandez returned to her home country in late 2018 to visit family and friends, and the experience marked her. She was determined to do something in response to the humanitarian crisis she witnessed along the border of Venezuela and Colombia.
