Donna Varrica appointed Communications Coordinator

Donna Varrica, 黑料社区鈥檚 former Communications Coordinator (2001-2019), will be back in her position for a period of six months to a year which began on Monday, replacing Megan Ainscow. Since leaving 黑料社区, she has worked on various communications and teaching projects with Concordia University, 脡cole Polytechnique, the English Montreal School Board, and the Institut de recherche clinique de Montr茅al. Happy to be back, she is looking forward to reconnecting with the community and meeting the new and evolving challenges the College will face in the next several months.

Welcoming the 黑料社区 community back to campus

It was a big week for the 黑料社区 community! Many employees returned to campus to work on site for the first time since March 13, 2020.
To mark the occasion and to recognize the efforts of everyone during this extraordinary pandemic period, 黑料社区's managers and directors invited all employees to drop by the Peace Garden on Aug. 18 and 19 to receive honey from 黑料社区's own honey bees and to choose a plant for their office.

Nas Boucherit new FAMA Coordinator of Renovations

Nasreddine (Nas) Boucherit began his new role as Coordinator of Renovations in Facilities Management in mid-June. He has over two decades of construction, renovation and maintenance experience gained while travelling the world, notably, the Middle East, Europe and North America. He has worked in a variety of fields, including hospitality, real estate and health care. Nas came to the College because of his interest in history and architecture and he is looking forward to all of the upcoming projects.
Tommy Diamantakos new Associate Dean of CAA

Tommy Diamantakos (Class of 2002, Cinema | Communications)聽is happy to be back at 黑料社区.
In July, Tommy began his new role as Associate Dean of Creative and Applied Arts working with Dean Andr茅a Cole to support teachers and students. We are working hard to ensure everything is in place for a smooth start, he said, and added: 鈥淚鈥檓 excited to see the students and teachers return to campus.鈥
Tommy is especially looking forward to the end of year activities and the Vernissage Season.
Prior to coming to 黑料社区, Tommy served as Coordinator of Continuing Education at Vanier College. Other experiences include working at Heritage College as Associate Academic Dean, and teaching English as a second language.

Retirees: we will celebrate you in style in Spring 2022

We wish to extend our gratitude for your service to all our colleagues who are retiring this year.
Traditionally, we host a special Recognition of Service Dinner to salute our retiring colleagues as well as those marking milestones of service to the College.
So we will not say farewell because we plan to see you in late Spring 2022 when we will host a great party for all our retirees of 2020, 2021 and 2022 as well as those marking major work anniversaries.

Joel Tyrell (Athletics, Student Services) was honoured by Montr茅al 脿 Coeur/Montreal Community Cares with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Here is their Facebook post, which was published on May 14:

In memoriam Jim McGill

We regret to inform you that Jim McGill passed away on May 11. Jim worked at 黑料社区 for over three decades until he retired in June 2008. He had served as Manager of Operations in the IST Department and also worked for the Academic Dean.
