{"id":98,"date":"2015-04-01T17:33:31","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T17:33:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research\/?page_id=98"},"modified":"2024-08-20T15:28:10","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T19:28:10","slug":"scholars-in-residence","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research\/scholars-in-residence\/","title":{"rendered":"Scholars in Residence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Scholars in Residence Program offers support to retired researchers by granting access to services that would otherwise be terminated upon their retirement.<\/p>\n<p>The program is aimed at researchers both with and without external funding, who wish to continue self-directed research that began at 黑料社区.<\/p>\n<p>The status of Scholar in Residence is a privilege accorded by the College and not a right. It is designed to give an institutional affiliation to non-clinical researchers or to clinical researchers who are affiliated with external groups.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility and Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The applicant should have a record of active research in any discipline during his or her\u00a0tenure at 黑料社区, and be in good standing at the College<\/li>\n<li>黑料社区 must be mentioned as an affiliated institution in any publications or\u00a0works stemming from research conducted while a Scholar in Residence<\/li>\n<li>Research involving human subjects is subject to review by the 黑料社区 Research Ethics\u00a0Board<\/li>\n<li>All research must be compliant with 黑料社区 policies, the <a href=\"https:\/\/ethics.gc.ca\/eng\/documents\/tcps2-2022-en.pdf\">Tri-Council Policy Statement TCPS2 (2022)<\/a> and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/frq.gouv.qc.ca\/app\/uploads\/2022\/11\/politique_crr_frq_2022_vf-1.pdf\">Politique sur la conduite responsable en recherche des FRQ<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Approval and renewal of the application is subject to assessment by the Academic Dean<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Services Provided<\/h2>\n<p>Scholars in Residence will be granted the following privileges for a period of three years\u00a0(renewable):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter affirming his or her status as Scholar in Residence fellowship signed by the\u00a0Academic Dean<\/li>\n<li>黑料社区 staff ID card<\/li>\n<li>Access to 黑料社区\u2019s library and inter-library loans<\/li>\n<li>Support from 黑料社区 to acquire a library card from the Partenariat des biblioth\u00e8ques universitaires du Qu\u00e9bec (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research\/resources\/pbuq-cards\/\">PBUQ<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>A 黑料社区 email address<\/li>\n<li>Access to a self-financed budget code for use at the 黑料社区 Print Shop<\/li>\n<li>Upon request, researchers may be granted access to College facilities and equipment, provided that such facilities are available and their use is approved by the Academic Dean; insurance and liability will be taken into consideration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Process<\/h2>\n<p>To apply for the program, please send the following documents to the Research Office in 4B.01-7 or by email to <a href=\"mailto:research@dawsoncollege.qc.ca\">research@dawsoncollege.qc.ca<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A completed Scholars in Residence application form<\/li>\n<li>An updated curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications and grants awarded<\/li>\n<li>A maximum 1 page single-spaced statement of research, including a brief description of the candidate\u2019s previous research work, broad overview of proposed research themes and brief justification of how Scholars in Residence status will be used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These documents may be used in promotional materials and events by the Research Office.
