{"id":1971,"date":"2021-10-25T09:13:21","date_gmt":"2021-10-25T13:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research\/?p=1971"},"modified":"2021-10-25T09:13:21","modified_gmt":"2021-10-25T13:13:21","slug":"cihr-to-provide-support-to-sshrcs-race-gender-and-diversity-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dawsoncollege.qc.ca\/research\/cihr-to-provide-support-to-sshrcs-race-gender-and-diversity-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"CIHR to provide support to SSHRC\u2019s Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council\u00a0(SSHRC) has recently announced a partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research\u00a0(CIHR) to fund more projects under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sshrc-crsh.gc.ca\/funding-financement\/programs-programmes\/rgdi-irgd-eng.aspx\">Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative<\/a>.\u00a0<abbr title=\"Canadian Institutes of Health Research\">CIHR<\/abbr>\u00a0will provide support to social sciences and humanities projects on the themes of race, gender and diversity that include a focus on health.<\/p>\n<p>The main goal of the Race, Gender and Diversity Initiative, launched in August\u00a02021, is to fund community-based and community-led research partnerships with postsecondary institutions that are grounded in the lived experience of underrepresented and\/or disadvantaged groups and that analyze the causes and persistence of systemic racism and discrimination.
